Up to date Drummer Festival Weekend 1998, which took place Would possibly 16 and 17, featured a diverse line-up of one of the most world’s most exciting and innovative drummers. All of the weekend’s events were videotaped and the most productive moments of the festival are presented in this two-tape series. Included are excerpts of each and every performance, plus interviews with each and every of the featured performers, in addition to footage of other notable drummers who were in attendance. This 85-minute tape of Sunday’s music includes these features: Glen Velez demonstrates rhythms, sounds, and effects on a number of several types of frame drums * Jo Jo Mayer, from Screaming Headless Torsos, performs a solo “tour de force” and plays in a trio setting * Eddie Bayers, Nashville’s busiest session drummer, performs with a quartet and offers practical insights into studio playing in addition to inspirational advice * Dave Weckl performs for the first time as a band leader, offering material from the CD Rhythms of the Soul.
